Wynkyn

I loved making and knitting this little sweater.  Wynkyn is a light weight raglan baby sweater.  It is knit in one piece from the neck down to the waist.  The sleeves are then knit on double pointed needles.  The buttonholes are made on both bands while knitting the sweater and can be converted easily for a boy or girl baby.  When the knitting is completed, simply weave in the ends, sew the buttons on, and the sweater is finished.  The sweater is made with machine washable sock yarn or fingering weight baby yarn.  Or, make the sweater from an assortment of left over sock yarn.  The pattern includes four sizes:  newborn, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months.  The finished chest measurements are 17, 18, 20, and 21 1/2 inches.  The sweater uses sizes 2 and 3 needles and one 100 gram skein of yarn.   Because the sweater was made in self striping sock yarn, no two sweaters are the same.  The combinations are endless.  It will become your go to pattern to make a gift for a new baby.
